Aynsley Cabbage Rose teacup and saucer in exceptional vintage condition from the 1940s. It features an Oban shape with a "DORIS" handle variation and large pink cabbage roses on a white background.
Four roses surround the inside of the cup, another large rose adorns the front, and a rosebud and leaf sprig are on back. Five roses encircle the saucer. Lavishly overlaid gilding accents the rims, handle and footed base. The cup measures about 4 1/2 across from rim to the tip of the handle. The saucer is 5 5/8 in diameter. Both pieces have the Green Crown "AYNSLEY ENGLAND BONE CHINA " MARK.The Bottom also bears the Pattern Number "C 1365".
