This is a beautiful oil on canvas painting of pink with wild roses in a rare, carved gesso on wood strawberry wood picture frame. The painting is signed, PB Grant on the back stretcher bar in graphite pencil. The painting was acquired in the Portland, Oregon several years ago from a family who have been in the area since the 1850s. We are dating the painting to the late 1870s to early 1880s.
The painting measures 21 1/4 L x 8 H. The painting is in very good condition with a light show of crazing. The rare frame measures 26 1/8 x 11 1/4 x 1 D. The frame has a few trace losses must study carefully to see these issues.
