Stamped on the inside of the clasp are the words "Made in Austria" (on one side) and. Geschützt 166849 (on the other). Miraculously, this piece has not been used, and has been carefully kept in fabulous condition. I can't say it is mint, because there are some teeny tiny chips at the edges.
This material is a little delicate. But I didn't notice the tiny chips until I started photographing details. I've photographed different aspects of the purse, so you can see how a view from straight down looks, and also the rings that are there for attaching a strap.
Also I've photographed the inner sides of the clasp to show the area where the purse would be attached. But basically, this is a stunningly beautiful purse clasp, ready to be admired as is, or to have a purse made to attach to it. How wonderful that would be! I've never seen anything like it for sale anywhere.
So whether you collect purses, or objects made from early synthetic materials, or you want to use this as it was intended to be used, this is a very special find. Please see the photos for the details of this beautiful piece: they are part of the condition description, and may describe things better than words. If you have any questions, please let me know.
