Antique RS Germany Porcelain Double Handle Cake Plate Tilowitz Germany c 1911-45. This plate, along with several other unique pieces of porcelain and glass, including Nippon, Haviland and other Limoges, Rosenthal Versace, several Victoria Carlsbad pieces, Meissen, Rudolstadt, and Royal Vienna, and Moser glass, was acquired from an estate in which ALL of the porcelain and glass items have been CURIO KEPT - This is undoubtedly the reason all have maintained such fine condition, with minimal gold loss, crazing, etc that we find among 19. Measures 9 1/2" Diameter without handles and 9 3/4" wide handle-to-handle. Plate is in phenomenal condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, utensil marks, barely any gold loss, but we note 3 extremely thin and short surface scratches so small they were difficult to capture (see photo 10 and zoom on top left of 3 and 4).

Beautifully decorated in a hand painted floral rose motif in shades of pink, upon a background of shades of green fading lighter toward center, culminating in a light peach pastel, abbreviated pierced reticulated handles, with a satin finish to paint, and finally accented with gold gild inside of handles and outer rim - it is, in a word, MAGNIFICENT. As it is hand painted, a close look and touch will reveal the layers and textures as paint was applied. Backstamp is blue RS Germany in wreath below star, all under glaze, as well as orange "Handpainted" in script above glaze, placing production at the Tilowitz porcelain factory 1911-45.
