Antique CLICHY True Concentric Millefiori withCenter Rose plus RARE Rose

  

This RARE paperweight has THREE different Rose canes including a RARE PURPLE and WHITE Rose, PLUS a FOURTH Rose, a Rare HIDDEN Rose. A Hidden Rose is where a Rose cane is used as the center of a larger millefiori cane. This classic antique Clichy (French, circa 1850) paperweight features an "Open Concentric" design with three rings of millefiori canes surrounding a center PINK/GREEN ROSE. Unlike MOST Clichy "Concentric" millefiori weights (where the canes are actually arranged in rows and only "appear" to be concentric), this paperweight is a TRUE CONCENTRIC.

Set around the large center PINK/GREEN rose, the inner ring has eight canes including a GREEN/WHITE Rose cane, the second ring has twelve canes including a HIDDEN ROSE (the center of the large Pink/Green cane), and the outer ring has sixteen canes including a RARE PURPLE and WHITE Rose for a total of 37 canes. The weight is 2-13/16" in diameter and 2-1/4" high. It is not signed however attribution is positive. The weight has been professionally polished and except for one tiny mark on the dome and a little wear to the base rim, condition is perfect.
