1700s ANTIQUE PINK VENETIAN CRYSTAL GLASS PERSIAN ROSE WATER SPRINKLER EXTREMELY RARE. DESCRIPTION: Offered to you is this Very Rare and much sought after antique 18th century pink Venetian crystal Persian Islamic rose water sprinkler. Hand made by Venetian artisan of blown pink crystal, preserved in excellent condition. It probably belonged to a member of a Middle Eastern Royal family since at the time only they had access to high end pieces imported from Europe. This sprinkler is an extremely rare and beautiful piece of museum grade quality and high collector's value.

Similar piece but made of more common clear glass is featured in the 1983 MILLER'S Antiques Price Guide. At the time it was appraised about equal to a collectible 1937 Morris 8 saloon or about half the value of a 1959 Austin-Healey two seater. There is some evidence that rosewater sprinklers were used in European Royal courts as the first female urinals.

The dresses were so extraordinarily large that the lady needed the help of a maid and a urinal to be able to perform its physical needs without having to fully undress. This practice mostly took place during lengthy receptions, dance events or gatherings.
