Rare Antique CLICHY Chequer withTwo Roses PLUS a RARE Hidden Rose

  

"HIDDEN" ROSES ARE QUITE SCARCE. A "Hidden" Rose is one where a Rose cane is used at the center of some other cane. In this case the Pink/White Rod cane next to the Pink/Green Rose in the inner ring has a "Hidden" Pink/Green Rose cane at the center. Two rings of classic Clichy canes are set around a large pastry mold cane in this nice Chequer paperweight. The canes are separated by strips of with latticinio to form the "Chequer" design.

The inner ring has six canes including a large Pink/Green Rose cane plus the "Hidden" Rose. The outer ring has eleven canes including a White Rose cane. The weight is 2-7/8" in diameter and 1-7/8" high. The paperweight has been professionally polished and except for appropriate wear to the base rim the CONDITION IS PERFECT.
